* Download from http://www.canfactory.de/ftp/Can-Factory_Desktop-Background
* Unzip the archive to divice "C:" [1]
* Right-Click on an empty space at the desktop and go to the Desktop tab.
* Select the file "desk_bg.html" as new Desktop Background and click OK.
* IMPORTANT: If you update from an older version, download one of the update files! Otherwise your existing notes will be overwritten! [2]
To edit the notes, right click somewhere below the link "Reload" and select "Show Source".
Edit the file, save it, and click the Reload link on the desktop to view the changes.

Install Directory
[1] After unzipping, the path to the file "desk_bg.html" must be
C:/canfactory_desktop_background/desk_bg.html
Settings
The file "desk_bg.html" contains some JavaScript variables at the beginning that allows you to do some settings. To do that, open the file "desk_bg.html" with an text-editor (i.e. Notepad).
Invisible Comments
If you want to store notes that shall not be displayed on the Desktop, you can wirte the text as a comment.
Start the text with <!-- and finish it with -->
All between <!-- and --> is not displayed on the Desktop.
User Defined Image
You can add your own image as a 7th Background. The image must be stored on a web server.
Edit the full path to the image in the file "desk_bg.html".
The image will be displayed in the original size.
How to find out the full path for the image?
Go to the webside that shows the image and right-click on it. Depending on the used browser, you find an option like "Copy Path to Image". This copies the path to the clipboard, and you can paste it to the file "desk_bg.html".
Activate an Update
After you unzipped an update, you must activate it on your Desktop:
* Right-Click on an empty space at the desktop and go to the Desktop tab.
* Select first one of the other offered backgrounds to activate the Apply-Button. Directly after that select again the file "desk_bg.html" as new Desktop Background and click OK.
